Community Tampa Bay is recognized with the Friend of NIE (Newspapers in Education) Award by the Florida Press Educational Services at the Florida Media Conference! The Friend of NIE Award is presented annually by FPES in recognition of an individual or organization that has helped to further FPES’ goal of promoting literacy by using the newspaper as an educational resource.
Community Tampa Bay and the Tampa Bay Times Newspaper in Education have collaborated and partnered together for the past several years on events such as Pathways to Understanding and the multifaceted Brown v. Board of Education programs across the state of Florida. We want to thank our friends at the Tampa Bay Times NIE, Sue and Jodi, for the amazing work that they do and including us in it!
