Community Tampa Bay’s vision is to end all forms of discrimination.

We work toward our ambitious vision by cultivating inclusive leaders to change communities through dialogue and cross-cultural interactions.

That means we give people the tools to have hard conversations with people who don’t look like them or who come from different backgrounds. And we empower them to build relationships based on understanding and mutual respect.

Our programs

  • College/University Partnerships

Through the Bishop Center for Ethical Leadership, any current USF St. Petersburg students registered for the Leadership Practicum in summer 2017 is able to offer three (3) course credits for residential service at ANYTOWN®.
  • Professional Education

Customized training that empowers youth and young-adult serving organizations and companies to create high-performing teams that effectively serve their diverse clientele.
  • Youth Adult Partnerships Volunteer Program

Prepares youth and young adults for professional success as inclusive leaders. Training for volunteers includes 30 hours of development in four fundamental benchmarks of cultural agility that helps our volunteers provide top-notch service to Community Tampa Bay and also contributes to their professional and leadership development.
Our programs
  • Youth Leadership Academy

Empowering youth to use their collective voice to promote meaningful reforms in education, law enforcement, media and local policy.
  • Youth Leadership Conferences

1-day mini ANYTOWN sessions, giving middle- and high-school aged students the opportunity to begin experiencing meaningful cross-cultural interactions and dialogue. These skills are the foundations for students to become inclusive leaders.
  • ANYTOWN®

5-day, 4-night residential conference for teens that gives them a framework for having hard conversations with people who don’t look like them and an understanding of why that’s important.

Pathways to Understanding

Promoting meaningful interactions between Muslim and non-Muslim communities.

Thank you for starting my life.

Ja’kia Simpson, ANYTOWN Graduate

I took a number of things from FLY: I took away new friends and ideas for inclusive living. Ideas that I’ve been able to apply to all aspects of my life…I truly grew to understand all people.

Sydnee Peterman, FLY Graduate

[At ANYTOWN] you will learn to understand humanity from a different point of view than the one you have. It is a place where you will feel understood and loved and you will get the opportunity to make others feel the same way.

Ana Gomez, ANYTOWN Graduate

Before Community Tampa Bay was in my life, I didn’t believe in myself. I didn’t have confidence. I didn’t think I was capable of much. It wasn’t until I went to ANYTOWN that I actually began to feel like I was somebody and that I could make a difference in my community.

Stephanie Coates, CTB Intern & ANYTOWN Volunteer

ANYTOWN literally saved my life.

Jayson James, ANYTOWN Graduate & Volunteer

Words can’t express how grateful I am for this experience [at Community Tampa Bay]. I will forever be living the ANYTOWN mission and spirit.

Tom Earl, Volunteer & Former VISTA

I’ve learned so much about respecting my peers and people who might be different from myself. I’ve learned so much about myself. Let’s end discrimination together.

Donald Curry, ANYTOWN Graduate

Thanks to Community Tampa Bay, I have the skills to have dialogues and the passion to seek them out.

Masatoshi Mochizuki, ANYTOWN Graduate & Volunteer

All too often, nonprofit sector professionals, Boards and other stakeholders brush off issues of inequity within our organizations because we want to believe that the good we do in
