Numerous volunteers further our mission by donating their time,
talent and efforts to our programs and operations. Each volunteer
comes with special interests, skills and passions. That is why we
seek to tap into those strengths and connect them
to opportunities that fit each person’s profile.
We are flexible in creating opportunities to suit
personal time commitment, interests and passions. For more information
on position descriptions, including schedule, additional responsibilities,
skills and experience requirements, or to express your interest
in volunteering with us, please email us at volunteer@communitytampabay.org.

Volunteer at Anytown
Every Anytown session welcomes 50 students and is directed by a
staff member of Community Tampa Bay who is assisted by a co-director
and up to 25 volunteer counselors (peer-educators)
and volunteer advisors (adult role models).
As Anytown is an experiential learning program
based on peer modeling, volunteers play an essential role.
We focus on education and skill-building
to instill cultural competency, behavioral change
and a sense of social responsibility in our youth.
Therefore our volunteers must exhibit the positive characteristics
that will empower our young people to become advocates for inclusion
and change agents in their communities.
We are always looking for dynamic, caring and responsible
volunteers to join our team. If you believe in respect for diversity,
we promise to provide you with an experience that will enrich your
life tremendously. Lodging, meals and materials are offered to volunteers
at no cost.
All volunteers are screened, interviewed, and provided with training
and support.
Requirements
- Anytown volunteers must be willing and able to participate
in minimum 1 full residential session, ie. 5 days/4 nights.
- Exhibit integrity, respect for diversity and teamwork
- Demonstrate an excellent sense of responsibility
and passion for social justice and youth development.
- Participate in 2 - 3 days of trainings in the
months prior to the start of the Anytown season.
