Anytown graduate Lyndsey Collins delivered a compelling presentation regarding the societal pressures to conform to gender stereotypes at the TedX Youth@Tampa Bay on Saturday, November 19. Using slides, personal experiences and research, her argument for inclusion and acceptance was compelling.
“Encourage every child to do their best at whatever they choose. To be a strong society we need to use all our resources. “, said Lyndsey.
Ms. Collins is currently a sophomore at the University of South Florida.

Bows and Bowties Youth Summit
Facilitating the Leadership of Youth-FLY- is a partnership
between Community Tampa Bay and Rays Baseball Foundation.
The purpose is to provide youth the opportunity to practice community
leadership by creating youth led summits on issues of their choosing.
This is the first FLY Summit of the new school year.
Bows and Bowties is about ”Gender Interactions:
How Boys and Girls Tie Their Own Knots.”
This event is all about understanding relationships, society, and RESPECT.
It is all for youth by youth, free food, fun people, and
amazing entertainment so you know it’s going to be great!

Location: Tropicana Field Gate 4 (enter on 16th street).
WHO: All youth that are ages 13+
are invited to attend, as well as adults. Youth under the age of 18 must
have their parents sign a waiver prior to the event. They can receive
