Brian Auld, Senior Vice President with Rays Baseball
spoke to 100 Pinellas teens at the recent Pinellas District
Wide Youth Conference sponsored by Community
Tampa Bay. Brian spoke of the importance of inclusion
and diversity in the corporate world and encouraged youth
to actively envision and work towards their futures now. He gave
examples of the importance in the workplace of encouraging
and using dialogue to engage a variety of viewpoints to improve
decision making.
Brian invited all attendees to join FLY-Facilitating the Leadership of Youth, a program partnership between Community Tampa Bay and Rays Baseball Foundation. (FLY has a Youth Summit scheduled at Tropicana Field on November 16. )
Stacie Blake, Executive Director of Community Tampa Bay said, “Thank you Brian for devoting your time to cultivating young leaders to change their communities. Hearing this message from a successful local executive has a lot of influence on teens.”

Bows and Bowties Youth Summit
Facilitating the Leadership of Youth-FLY- is a partnership
between Community Tampa Bay and Rays Baseball Foundation.
The purpose is to provide youth the opportunity to practice community
leadership by creating youth led summits on issues of their choosing.
This is the first FLY Summit of the new school year.
Bows and Bowties is about ”Gender Interactions:
How Boys and Girls Tie Their Own Knots.”
This event is all about understanding relationships, society, and RESPECT.
It is all for youth by youth, free food, fun people, and
amazing entertainment so you know it’s going to be great!
Wednesday, November 16th 3:30-7:30, with registration at 3:15
Location: Tropicana Field Gate 4 (enter on 16th street).
WHO: All youth that are ages 13+
are invited to attend, as well as adults. Youth under the age of 18 must
have their parents sign a waiver prior to the event. They can receive
this waiver by registering at http://flybowsandbowties.eventbrite.com.
